Leading UK event and conference venue, Telford International Centre, has announced the strengthening of its sales team with two significant new appointments.  The news comes as it seeks to capitalise on continued growth at the 15,000 sqm venue throughout 2019 and beyond.

Joining from Liverpool-based event production company, Meet & Potato, Rosalind Godfrey has taken up the position of Senior Sales Manager at Telford International Centre.  She is, however, no stranger to Telford, having previously been a Sales Manager at the venue for five years before taking up her most recent role.  She comments:

“Having thoroughly enjoyed five years in the sales team at Telford International Centre, I was keen to expand my skills base and experience different areas of the events sector.  My role at Meet & Potato certainly provided this, but when the opportunity to come back to Telford arose, it felt too good to pass up.

“The Senior Sales Manager role is a new position which, I believe, will allow me to not only draw on my 25 years’ of industry experience, but also task me to tackle new challenges which I’m looking forward to.”

Jenny O’Sullivan, meanwhile, has assumed the role of Sales Manager which will see her focus on attracting new customers to the International Centre, whilst strengthening relationships with established ones.  Like Rosalind, Jenny is no stranger to Telford and prior to joining the sales team, she’d been an Event Manager at the venue.  She comments:

“The International Centre is built on a close-knit team where everyone is passionate about their roles and whilst I had thoroughly enjoyed my time as an Event Manager, I was keen to expand that experience by branching in to sales.

“Having the opportunity to do this, whilst remaining in Telford, is great as I am able to utilise my experience of the venue and the fabulous services that we offer, whilst being challenged in a new aspect of the overall operation.”

Over 130 events took place at Telford International Centre during 2018, and current projections point towards 2019 and subsequent years being even more successful.  Over two-thirds of the venue’s 2018 clients have already booked to return to Telford and as Alison Griffin, Sales and Marketing Director explains, guaranteeing the continuation of this level of growth and success requires a strong and dedicated team:

“Feedback regularly references not only the first-class facilities on offer at Telford International Centre, but also the strength and passion of the team that makes every event a success.  This isn’t something we take for granted and we invest heavily in ensuring that we’ve got the very best team in place.

“In Rosalind and Jenny, we’ve got two fantastic additions to the sales team, but importantly they’re already familiar with and committed to our venue vision.

“Rosalind is energetic and possesses a drive that will enable her to motivate the sales team to achieve great things and Jenny has proven herself as an accomplished Event Manager and her operational insight will equip her well as she seeks to attract new customers to the venue.”
